The recoverable reserves of the Russian shelf make up 20% of the world's oil and gas reserves. Most of them are the Arctic shelf. Its development is comparable to the conquest of the cosmos or the atomic revolution.
By 2020 on the shelf of Russia will be implemented 100 projects for drilling exploration and maintenance. The number of mobile drilling platforms will grow from 15 to 30. The main customers are Gazprom, Rosneft, Lukoil and Gazprom Neft.
All this causes a sharply increasing demand for highly skilled specialists in the field of well construction at marine hydraulic structures.

Increasing the efficiency of oil and gas production, especially in complex deposits, is an increase in production well rates and injectivity of injection wells. Such a result can be achieved through the use of geo-navigation technology, namely, due to the optimal location of the wellbore in the productive horizon from the point of view of exploitation of subsurface resources. At the same time drilling on the shelf requires the use of geo-navigation technology, which is due to a complex trajectory of the wellbore.
Geosteering is the science of positioning a wellbore in the rock strata in the process of drilling, taking into account navigational, technological and geophysical information obtained in real time.
